Nationalities Day at Borden NATO Base

2.Nov.2006 It was great fun and very interesting for us to accept the Bulgarian group of officers' invitation to participate in the Nationalities Day at the Borden, ON, NATO Military Base. Before graduation, each class organises a Nationalities Day when all military personnel represent their countries through national songs, dances, costumes, cuisine, slide-shows, films, etc. Our performance was ecstatically applauded by the multinational audience. The sounds of the gaida and tapan gathered many officers and civilians in the Pravo Horo. Our captain S was wildly praised and received numerous pats on the shoulder for learning the Pravo, Paidushko and Elenino horo beats in mere 15 min and for keeping up with the gaida on the tapan. The official evening ended with us sharing a table and swapping gaidas with the Macedonians. One of their officers danced the Tejko Horo on the tapan.
