St. Trifon Zarezan Day in Toronto

14.Feb.2007 We celebrated St. Trifon Zarezan's Day (The Patron of wine, agriculture and frolicing) on the right date as well. We left our house with a bag full of bread and a "baklitsa" of wine; we pruned a vine in Nasko's 'vineyard'; then hopped in the cars and drove back to our vine. We pruned it; wove a wreath of the vinesticks; watered it with wine; blessed it to be healthy and fruitful; made a wish - "May you give us a barrel of wine this year and two barrels next year!"; danced a couple of horos in the snow, and were off to the table.
